Dans une vallée du nord de l'Inde, au Ladakh, le "pays des hautes passes", on trouve, rendue presque à l'état sauvage par les effets conjugués de l'Histoire et de la Géographie, une petite population de Chameaux Bactriens (à deux bosses).

In a remote valley in Ladakh (also known as "Land of the High Passes"), Northern India, a small population of Bactrian Camels (double humped) can be found. Under the joint effects of history and geography, they have almost turned back to a wild condition.

Plus au sud, le Rajasthan est la "Terre des Rois", mais aussi celle du dromadaire qui y tient une place toute particulière ; et tous les ans l'étonnante et unique "Foire aux Chameaux" de Pushkar célèbre cet animal.

To the south and still in India, Rajasthan is the "Land of the Kings", but also a land of the camels; they hold a very special position there, and every year, the renowned and unique Pushkar Camel Fair celebrates that animal.

La Camel Odyssey, c'est aller au Ladakh, s'y procurer des chameaux (à deux bosses) et ...rejoindre Pushkar pour sa foire aux chameaux (à une bosse).
Nous emprunterons l'ancienne route des caravanes de la route de la soie - et traverserons notamment la chaîne de l'Himalaya puis une partie du désert du Thar.

The "Camel Odyssey" is going to ladakh to fetch some double-humped camels. From here we will travel to Pushkar for the single-humped Camel Fair.
We'll travel along the ancient routes of the silk road caravans, and will notably cross the Great Chain of the Himalayas and part of the Thar Desert
